How To Make A 7 String Bracelet
7 String Bracelet
Most girls love their bracelets. So why not make your own 7-string bracelet that you can show to your friends? These are also great crafts for Brownies or after-school clubs.
This bracelet is made using 7 strands of thread so it’s very colourful. It looks impressive but is very simple to make. Don’t be put off by how difficult it looks because it is really easy to make.
What You Need
- 7 Stands of string of any colour (about a meter of each strand)
- A piece of card (the thicker the better)
- Something circular to draw around for example a DVD or small bowl
- A pen or pencil
- Scissors
- Beads (optional)

How To Make It
- Draw around something circular onto your piece of card and cut it out.
- Cut a small hole in the centre of your card.
- Cut 8 slits equally around the edge of your card. They should go about halfway to the middle.

- Line up your pieces of string and tie them together at one end.
- If you wish to put a bead on your string you can.
- Push the untied end of the string through the hole in the card and put until the knot is against the card
- Put one strand of string in each of the slits.

- This should leave an empty slit. Spin the card so this one is at the top.
- Going anti-clockwise, count the slits and when you get to the third one take the string out of the slit and move it to the empty one at the top. Pull the ends of the strings to ensure it stays tight.
- Turn the card so the new empty slot is at the top and repeat step 9.
- Continue this and soon you will see your bracelet begin to grow through the hole in the card. If the string becomes different lengths don’t worry.

- Every couple of moves, make sure you run your fingers through the strings to prevent them from tangling.
- Once you have created a bracelet in the size you need take the strings of the card and tie a knot where the bracelet ends.
- Tie a second knot about 1cm away. This will keep your bracelet on as you can push the push knot at the other end of the bracelet through. If you have used a bead, you may need to leave more than 1cm. If you want to you can add a second bead.
- Cut off any excess string.
- Admire your new 7 string bracelet.

Alternative String Bracelet Ideas
One of the best things about this 7 string bracelet is choosing what colour to make it. I have used 7 different colours of string but you don’t have to. You do need 7 pieces of string but you can use 7 shades of the same colour, 4 pieces of one colour and 3 of another or any combination you like.
Although this is a fab bracelet, you can make it slightly longer and attach it to a hair clip and it makes a fantastic hair braid.
